Travel
Neuchâtel does not have a commercial airport, but it does have very good train links to the following international airports:
1. Geneva (take the IC5 direct to Neuchâtel from the airport – c.90 mins)
2. Zurich (take the IC5 direct to Neuchâtel from the airport – c.100 mins)
3. Basel (take a shuttle bus to Basel central, and then an indirect train with a change in either Olten or Bien/Biel – c.110 mins)
We strongly encourage those travelling within Europe to consider travelling to Switzerland by train.
When you are in Neuchâtel everywhere is within easy walking distance and the bus services are frequent and well connected.
Tourist Card
Those of you staying in hotels in Neuchâtel will be entitled to a Neuchâtel Tourist Card. Please be sure to ask for the card at reception when you check in and keep the card on you during your stay. This card will enable you to use public transport for free. It will also entitle you to access the boat trip (Wednesday early evening) and will allow you to take the train to Môtiers for the visit to the Absinthe Museum and waterfall, should you decide to stay for the optional excursion. If you have additional free time during your trip then you might also want to take advantage of the other offers available to card holders.
